Last day of school

What felt like the fastest school year ever came to a close before Memorial Day--this time, for all of us!  Even though last summer was shorter, this definitely made up for it.  Abby's first year of high school was a success.  Her favorite teachers this year were her Spanish teacher and her technology teacher.  She said she hopes that the rest of her high school years go as quickly, which I do not hope!  Norah wrapped up her last year of elementary school, and she was so sad even though I know she was ready for summer.  She had a great fifth grade year, with a wonderful team of teachers.  It was so much fun to be at the same school as her this year, and she loved not having to ride the bus.  I'll miss her before and after school help next year!

Mother's Day

We spent Mother's Day going to church as a family and going to a Twins game with my parents and sister.  We had great seats, and had fun seeing the Twins beat the Chicago Cubs!

Pedicures

The girls had a special evening with their friend Addy on her birthday.  Her brother had a baseball game, so she spent the evening with us.  For her birthday present, the girls took her to get pedicures.  They thought it was funny getting mistaken for all being sisters.

After their pedicures, we went out to eat at Chick-fil-a.  These girls always have fun together!

Academic award

We celebrated Abby at the end of the school year at an academic award breakfast at the high school.  Freshman year wasn't always easy, but we are so proud of Abby's hard work in class and studying at home! 

 

Band concert

Norah really enjoyed her first year of band!  She opted to play percussion, which is something I've always wished I had done.  She loved her band director and had a great experience.  They wrapped up the year with a concert at the high school with all of the fifth grade band students from all three elementary schools in the district.  She'll continue with band next year, and hopefully will keep enjoying it!

Hamilton

Dave surprised the girls with tickets to Hamilton this spring!  We had fun staying downtown, ordering in Pizza Luce while we got ready, and of course seeing the amazing performance.  Norah has loved the music since we first watched it on Disney Plus a few years ago, and she has watched it over and over.  The live performance was incredible!

Abby's 15th birthday party

For her family birthday party this year, Abby wanted to do a "pink cowgirl" theme.  She came up with an idea for her cake--she frosted it with white frosting and used a stencil for a cowboy hat and dusted pink sprinkles to make the shape of the hat.  Abby definitely felt the love from grandparents and both of her aunts!
