Disney trip--last day

Our last day at Disney, we got to sleep a little longer since the parks didn't open until 9.  We finished packing, ate a quick breakfast in our room, and checked out.  It's pretty handy--you can check your bags and get your boarding pass right at the resort.  They stored our carry-ons for us, and we hopped on the bus to Magic Kingdom for one last day.  Once there, we headed straight for storytime with Belle.  This time, the wait was an hour, but we knew it was something we wanted to do.  Dave and Abby went to see Mary Poppins while Norah and I waited.

It was definitely worth the wait--it's a neat set-up.  You get to go inside Belle's cottage and once inside, they have you go through three rooms.  First, it's Maurice's invention room, where they show some of his inventions.  Second, it's in a room where they chose people to act out different parts in the Beauty and the Beast story.  Abby was chosen to play the beast, which she didn't want to do.  When she was offered the part of the horse, I thought she'd refuse that too, but she took it.  Dave ended up being chosen to play the wardrobe.  He had to sing, and Abby had to neigh.  The last room was where they had the fireplace and brought in Belle.  Dave and Abby got to help act out the story with Belle, and then got their picture taken with her.  Abby got a special Belle bookmark to take home.

After story time with Belle, we picked up FastPasses for Winnie the Pooh (it had been closed Thursday, but was open again Sunday).  We also were given surprise FastPasses for Dumbo.  We headed over to meet Tinkerbell in Adventureland, where Dave's family met up with us.

On our way back to Winnie the Pooh, we stopped to meet Tiana.  She was definitely the sweetest of the princesses/characters we met on our trip.

We made it to Winnie the Pooh to use our FastPasses, but as we were waiting, the ride broke down.  We had to wait for them to unload everyone, then fix things, but finally made it on the ride.  We had just enough time to use our surprise Dumbo FastPasses before we needed to have some lunch and head back to our resort.

Abby had a gift card to spend, so we had saved just enough time to do some shopping before heading back.  Back at the resort, we had some time to kill before our bus came to pick us up.  Dave snapped some pictures of our resort.

We didn't realize until too late that we were sitting in the wrong area to wait for our bus, so we missed it!  Luckily, they called a taxi for us at no charge that brought us to the airport.  Even though we missed our bus and the security line took forever to wait in, we ended up having plenty of time at the airport.  We got some supper, then were getting ready to get on the plane when we realized things were running way behind.  The plane had come in a little late, but they also had a bad overbooking situation.  It took a long time for them to figure that out, but we eventually got on the plane and took off.  Of course, Norah had a dirty diaper right during take-off, so we got to experience baby changing in the little airplane bathroom once in the air.  Abby fell asleep right away and slept the whole ride home.  Norah was very restless for the first hour or so, then finally fell asleep.  We arrived in Minnesota, where it was cold, icy, and snowy.  Luckily, we made it home okay.  Dave's family ended up staying at our house because travel wasn't recommended south of us.

It was an amazing, busy, FUN trip!!  We were so sad to see it end, and it went so fast.  Hopefully we can bring the girls back when Norah is Abby's age--Abby was definitely at the perfect age this time.  Lots of great memories!

Hollywood Studios

Saturday was the day we had decided to go to Hollywood Studios.  Once again, we got up early and had a quick breakfast in our room before catching the bus.  We knew that the Toy Story ride would get busy fast, so we went straight there.  Even waiting in line was entertaining--so much fun stuff to look at!

We all loved the ride, so we decided to get FastPasses for later.  A good thing, since all FastPasses were gone by mid-afternoon!  We saw that the Toy Story character photo spot would be opening soon, so we got in line.  This was another fun area--as you wind your way back to the characters, there are spots to take your own pictures.

Abby had fun meeting Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

We found the Monsters, Inc. character spot next, and were first in line when they arrived.

After this, we decided to go ride Star Tours.  Dave's mom watched the girls while the rest of us rode.  They've updated the ride, so it's still lots of fun.  There are several different scenarios that they randomly pick, so it's different each time.  We thought that Abby would enjoy it and there wasn't much of a wait, so we took her on it with us a second time.  After the ride, we had lunch at the Backlot Express while Dave and his dad went to get us FastPasses for Rockin' Rollercoaster.  We were right by the Indiana Jones show, so after lunch, we went there--always a fun show.  We had two FastPasses to use for the afternoon, so we rode Toy Story a second time and then went on Rockin' Rollercoaster.  I had never been on an upside-down rollercoaster before, so I was pretty nervous about this one.  The scariest part is over first and it is so fast--you speed up right away and you go upside-down a couple of times at the beginning.  It was a lot of fun, and I would definitely go on it again!  We got FastPasses for the Tower of Terror before heading to get a snack and sit and wait for the parade.  Just before the parade started, we were wondering where Dave's mom was.  A group of workers was putting together a flash mob dance, and that's where we found her!

The parade was lots of fun--fun to see some different characters.

Afterwards, we had a little bit of time before the Beauty and the Beast show we wanted to go see, so Dave and I took Abby to the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground.  Abby had fun checking it out!

The Beauty and the Beast show was great, and Abby loved it--lots of great singing and dancing.

After the show, it was time for Tower of Terror.  Dave's mom fed the girls a snack while she waited for us.  I remember this ride being a lot scarier, but I definitely got all nervous for nothing.  The pre-drop part of the ride was a lot quicker than I remember, and now you don't drop all of the way down at once--there are a few drops, and it doesn't fall as fast as it used to.  Lots of fun, and I'd do it again!

After the ride, we went to Pizza Planet for a quick supper, then saw the Muppet show.  That's always a cute one.

We wanted to be sure to go on the Great Movie Ride, since it's a favorite of Dave's mom, so we did that next.  Afterward, we had time to go see the Little Mermaid show, which Abby and Norah both loved.  We thought about waiting in line for Toy Story again, but decided it was just too long.  We tried to go on Star Tours one more time, but they had closed for the night.  It's too bad Hollywood Studios closes so early--we had such a fun day!

Abby before bed Saturday night--Minnie Mouse from Grandma and Rapunzel doll from Tracy--lucky girl!

Epcot

On Friday, we got to sleep a little bit longer, since we had a breakfast reservation at the Crystal Palace back at the Magic Kingdom.  The morning was foggy, but it cleared off by the time breakfast was over and ended up being a beautiful, warm day!

Breakfast was yummy, and the girls had fun seeing the Winnie the Pooh characters.  They even got to join a little parade around the restaurant at one point.

There were some "Lost Friends" that were posing for pictures with people by the entrance, so we stopped and waited to meet Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, and Gepetto before heading to Epcot for the day.

We took the monorail to the transit station, then from there, took another monorail to Epcot.  We decided to head straight back to the Finding Nemo ride--Dave and his dad went ahead of us to get FastPasses for Soarin'.  The Nemo ride was a quick wait and fun for the girls.  At one point, Nemo and friends look like they're swimming with the real fish in the aquarium.  After Nemo, we decided to wait a few minutes for the Turtle Talk with Crush.  This show was so cute.  Crush interacts with the audience, and answers kids' questions.  His facial expressions and reactions to some of the questions were hilarious.  After the show, we spent some time looking around the aquarium.

Our next stop was to grab a snack before going to see some characters.  We went to China first, where Abby was able to meet Mulan.

We walked through the rest of the countries, stopping for a couple of pictures before making our way to France to see Belle.

Norah loved the chance to change into cooler clothes and crawl around on a blanket in the grass in France while we waited for Belle.  After seeing Belle, it was time to FastPass Soarin'.  Dave's mom, dad, and sister went on it first, while we waited outside with Norah.  Dave, Abby, and I had so much fun on Soarin'.  I was so proud of Abby for being brave enough to ride it with us, and she had a blast!  Definitely one of our favorite rides of the trip.  While we were on the ride, Dave's mom had spotted Rapunzel at a secret character spot right behind where they had been waiting.  The person who was with her told Nancy that they'd be back a little bit later, so we decided to hang around there after the ride.  Jasmine came out first, and Abby was so excited.

After getting pictures with Jasmine, Abby spotted Rapunzel--she ran to give her a big hug--it was so sweet!  She walked hand-in-hand back with Rapunzel for some pictures.

We decided to ride Spaceship Earth before our princess meal.  Dave's mom took Norah to do a little shopping while the rest of us went on the ride.  We then made our way to Norway, where we had reservations at Akershus for another princess dinner.  This time, we had our picture taken with Belle, then were shown to our seats.  Another good meal, and more fun for Abby to see the princesses again!

We shopped a little at the gift shop in Norway, and then rode the Maelstrom.  We did some souvenir shopping back by Test Track, then found a spot for Dave's mom to sit with the girls and save our seats for Illuminations.  The rest of us rode used our FastPasses for Test Track--lots of fun to speed around the outside track at night!  We found our way back to Nancy just in time to watch Illuminations.  Abby didn't like the fireworks, but it was a fun show.

Another fun and busy day, and a late night!
