Biking the Cannon Valley Trail

After our church's groundbreaking service at the new land, we packed up our bikes and headed over to Red Wing to bike on the Cannon Valley Trail.  I have been wanting to do a big bike ride for awhile, and the weather was perfect to try out this trail.  The entire trail is 20 miles, and we decided that biking the whole thing and back might be too much to try, so we parked in Red Wing and hopped on the trail there.  The trail is pretty flat, very shady, and full of beautiful views.  We even saw a deer on the trail!  The breeze felt amazing, and we kept commenting about what a nice day and trail it was.  We stopped at the halfway point in Welch to take a little break, have a snack, and use the bathrooms.  It's a nice stopping point.  The first few miles on the way back went fast, but then we began to realize how tired we were.  We made it, though!  20 total miles.

Our plan all along had been to stop for ice cream at the confectionary in Red Wing, so that was the perfect reward for a long bike ride!
