VBS 2018

Our VBS theme this year was "Maker Fun Factory".  This was Abby's last year of VBS, and next year she is excited to be a helper.  I led the Imagination Station this year--crafts/STEM projects.  It was a fun and busy week, and the kids especially liked the slime day!  Abby and Norah loved everything--Norah's favorite was the Imagination Station and Abby's was KidVid time.  We listened to the CD in the car non-stop, so they knew their songs well for the Thursday night program.  Unfortunately, Abby wasn't feeling well Thursday morning so she and I had to miss a day, but she was doing better by program time.  Dave's parents and my mom came for the dinner and program.  We're already thinking ahead to next year's Shipwrecked theme!

Fishing 2018

We had a great week for fishing this year, and a new cabin to stay in.  It was the perfect cabin for all of us!  The girls had a loft with two beds, there was a living room/eating area with a couch and a big table, a nice kitchen and bathroom, and two bedrooms (with doors!) downstairs for Dave's parents and Dave/myself.  It also had a fire pit that we used to make s'mores one night, and a nice wrap around porch that was nice and shady to read on.

The weather cooperated well all week, and the fishing was good.  We did have one rainy day when we rested at the cabin.  We went swimming a couple of days at Rose Ridge's beach area, but it was a little cool in the water.  We also enjoyed their paddle boats and playground area.

Norah and Abby caught some nice fish, and are excited to share some pictures for a fishing contest that their gym teacher at school is putting on.
